China Mieville is apparently not doing anything, and his website is down.
Stephen King’s movie version of Desparation is now in post-production, though there’s no release date for it yet.
Orson Scott Card’s Shadow of the Giant (the 94th chapter in the ender series) will be out in March.

Have you read “Iron Council” yet? Is it good? Are you sick of the Ender books like I am?

I read iron council, and I liked it. I’m recognizing that china mieville likes to leave things open ended, which i’m ok with even though it’s rather odd. it takes place about 20 or 30 years after the stuff in perdido street station, loosely touching on some of it, but mostly it’s another story in the same city, and outside it.
As for the Ender stories, yes and no. I read Ender’s game and it’s sequels a while ago, and yeah, was kinda getting sick of the ones that were like history books instead of cool action sci-fi books, but then Card wrote the shadow books which are from pretty much everyone else’s perspective, like Bean and Petra, Peter and Valentine, and it got interesting again. The sequels aren’t the most exciting books, only Ender’s Game and Ender’s Shadow are the coolest but i like them nonetheless, and as long as he doesn’t get way too much into politics, i’ll read them.
The first three chapters of Shadow of the Giant are available to read online at card’s website, http://www.hatrack.com/ (which is really ugly). I haven’t read them yet, and I’ll probably just wait until I buy the book.

Yeah, I agree. I liked Ender’s Game and Speaker for the Dead but not Xenocide or Children of the Mind.
The Shadow books got me back into it, although I haven’t liked them as much as Ender’s Game.
I don’t think I’ll read it online. I’ll probably just wait until you buy me the book.

so… i guess you’ll be waiting a long time then?
can you really measure “never” though? i guess infinity.
