Cleveland Rocks*
Portland, not so much.
Went to Portland today with my mom, it’s even more of a small big city than seattle is. It’s not ugly, it’s actaully quite a nice looking city: lots of parks, some streets lined with bricks, stuff lake that. But there are only a couple places that are really interesting to see. There are two streets (21st and 23rd) that are something like Fremont or the U-District’s main street, and then there’s a nice area with an upscale mall and a nordstroms. Plus some nice looking houses, but only a few blocks of them, so there’s not a whole lot to see.
If i lived there, i’m sure i’d be pretty happy, but it’s definitely not worth the 2 1/2 to 3 hour drive from Seattle. Might as well go north, to Vancouver, which has way more stuff to do.
*Cleveland may or may not actually rock.

From The Note, ABC News’ daily political briefing — a quote –
“Are you excited about being in Cleveland?!” — Edwards supporter psyching up the crowd before the Senator’s arrival, who was close to an hour late for the event. It reminded some of us who have seen the movie “Spinal Tap” of the “Hello Cleveland!” scene when the rock band got lost back-stage.
